At SMPAA, we believe that the benefits of dance education are to help improve physical and mental health, as well as the ability to express oneself through movements of the body. The SMPAA Dance curriculum is based upon the methods of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), the world’s leading dance examination board where students will receive a high-quality dance education to an international standard. From Term I/2016, the Faculty of Dance at SMPAA is diversifying to introduce two new subjects in Modern Jazz and Dance Fitness (Adults).

Influenced by Jazz music and Broadway, the Modern Jazz dance program will facilitate proper Jazz techniques to encourage students to develop a sense of rhythmical awareness essential to Jazz dance.

Dance Fitness (Adults) specializes in exercises and healthy activities for adults through dance-inspired movements. In a dynamic and energetic environment, students will improve physical fitness, gain body flexibility and learn the basics of dance.
