The end-of-term Practical Examination for term II/2015 at SOUL Music and Performing Arts Academy (SMPAA) were completed with strong success across the board with the participation of over 600 performances from both Faculty of Music and Faculty of Dance.
The newly introduced and improved structure of the Practical Examination at SMPAA focuses specifically on theoretical knowledge and various forms of assessment. The new format gives students more opportunities to perform and boost their confidence, while enhancing their theoretical understanding. This simultaneously allows teachers to have a better evaluation of their students’ progress and review their teaching quality for each term.
From the results received, our Curriculum Board is proud to witness the strong improvement from our students in all areas, including technical knowledge, fundamental techniques and performing styles. The students are more aware of their own strengths, and have taken necessary steps to improve their weaknesses from the previous terms. More importantly, Music and Performing arts education are showing more positive effects in nurturing talents, directing development, and fine-tuning personalities of SMPAA students.
