Piano
SMPAA's well-designed piano curriculum is suitable for all ages and skill levels. The program provides students not only technical foundations but also other skills such as performance etiquette, confidence, public interaction and communication abilities. In our creative education environment, students can develop their musical personaility and potential, creative ability, musical sensitivity, and sharpen their musicality and logical thinking.
Learning Objectives
– Classical piano and Contemporary piano (Rock & Pop, Jazz…)
– Develop fundamental to advanced musical expression requirements of the subject and different styles of music
– Encourage creativity and confidence in each student through improvisational exercies at all levels
– Acquire solid knowledge of music theory, coupled with technical and musical elements. Develop performance skills
– Develop coordination among the senses
Learning Outcomes
Beginner Level
– Execute basic techniques of the subject (posture, arms and fingers position)
– Complete finger exercises of the Beginner Level
– Develop musicaility and musical expression
– Develop basic performance etiquette
Intermediate Level
– Acquire all knowledge and skills of Beginner Level
– Continue to develop musicality and musical expression
– Develop ability to manage the sound of the piano through dynamics and musical styles
– Continue to develop performance skills and etiquette
Advanced Level
– Acquire all knowledge and skills of Intermediate Level
– Able to understand and execute musical characteristics of different eras and/or genres
– Able to express music through technical and dynamics control
– Demonstrate the ability to connect with the audience through technical and performance space control
